Hallo,
ik moet een PowerPoint presentatie maken van informatie die ik kan vinden over stikstof. Maar ik loop nog op een paar puntjes vast.
Namelijk het bekomen van stikstof in elementaire vorm: onze lucht zit voor 78% vol met stikstof (elementair), dus maken ze dit dan nog aan? en als ze dit wel doen , op welke manier dan?
Het andere is, welke toepassingen zijn er met deze elementaire stikstof?

Lucht is natuurlijk niet zuiver en de stikstof moet er dus uit geextraheerd worden.
Extraction
Nitrogen may be prepared from air by passing the air through a solution of caustic soda to remove carbon dioxide.
2 NaOH + CO2 ==> Na2 CO3 + H2 O
Then the gas stream is passed over heated copper turnings which removes the oxygen.
Cu + O2 ==> 2 CuO
However, when nitrogen is prepared by this method, the gas is somewhat impure due to the presence of traces of the inert Nobel Gas, which are also present in the atmosphere.
Nitrogen may also be prepared by the decomposition of compounds containing nitrogen. For example, nitrogen gas is liberated on heating a dilute solution of ammonium nitrite.
NH4 NO2 ==> N2 + 2 H2 O

Stikstof wordt ook gebruikt om oplossingen gasvrij te maken, verder wordt het als dragergas in gaschromatografie gebruikt.

Stikstof is inert, het reageert dus nergens mee.
Stikstof voor chemische processen in fabrieken wordt gewoon uit de lucht gehaald (AirProducts of liquidair zij bedrijven die dit doen).

Stikstof wordt in het groot bereid door destilatie van lucht. Lucht wordt eerst vloeibaar gemaakt, door deze zeer koude vloeistof weer langzaam te verwarmen koken de gassen (waaronder stikstof) er uit en worden opgevangen.
