"Bepaal de deelruimte van (R, R4, +) voortgebracht door de vectoren (1, -1, 2, 3),

(2, 1, -1, 4) en (0, -3, 5, 2). Voor welke λ ∈ R behoort (3λ, 3, λ - 5, 7λ - 2) tot de deelruimte ?"


Men kan dit oplossen m.b.v. de matrix:

D.m.v. elementaire rij-operaties volgt hieruit:

Hieruit volgt dat:

Aangezien we een vrijheidsgraad hebben dit geldt voor elke λ ∈ R.
