Nu zag ik met google dat deze term ook door 'gewone' mensen wordt gebruikt voor mechanische poppen.Rachel: Come on, someone go.

Nu vraag ik mij natuurlijk af hoe dit etymologisch zit. Ik weet dat de term dutch niet altijd betrekking heeft op Nederland omdat de term vroeger sloeg op de grotere Germaanse regio. Die poppen zijn echter toch nog niet zo oud.
Zijn die poppen voor het eerst gebruikt in Nederland (de Efteling) en dat ze daarom nog zo genoemd worden?
