Redshift parameter + relativistic doppler effect

Hallo allemaal,

The cosmological principle can also be used to derive an expression for the redshift of light

(from far away galaxies) in terms of the scale factors at emission and observation. Use the fact

that the wavelength in terms of the co-moving coordinates Δx is independent of time to derive an expression for Afbeelding in terms of the scale factors a(tobs) and a(tem). The redshift parameter z is the typical parameter used to indicate distance in cosmology.

c) We can actually calculate the size of the effect by using the relativistic Doppler effect that says that the frequency of light emitted fe by a source that is moving with a velocity v in the direction of the observer is blue- or red-shifted (depending on whether the source is moving away or coming towards us) by the following amount

When g is the acceleration of the rocket, when a lightray is send from the top of the rocket to reach the bottom, what is the difference between the velocity Δv between emission and observation in a time Δt?

Daarna volgt vraag d:

d) Assuming the velocity of the rocket is still far from the speed of light, can you approximately

calculate the time difference Δt in terms of the height h and the speed of light c?

e) Plugging the expression for Δv into the expression for the blue- or red-shift, calculate the

ratio between the frequency at the observer (or the rate at the observer) and the frequency at

emission (rate at emission). What does this imply for the running of clocks at the top and at

the bottom of the rocket (use that frequency can be considered a rate) and consequently for the

running of clocks in a gravitational potential?

Zou iemand me hiermee kunnen helpen?

Alvast bedankt!

Re: Redshift parameter + relativistic doppler effect
