Hallo,
Ik zit met een vraag, is het mogelijk om aan de hand van IR polysorbate 20, 40 en 80 te onderscheiden? Zo ja naar welke functionele groepen en in welke gebieden moet er dan gekeken worden. Ik hoop dat er iemand is die me kan helpen met dit probleem.

Kun je wat meer informatie geven? Waarin verschillen deze stoffen? Geeft het getal 20 40 80 het aantal gekoppelde monomeren aan? Wanneer dit zo is, denk ik niet dat je een onderscheid aan kan brengen.

Polysorbate is een mengsel, vind er op chemexper en woordenboek organische chemie zelfs geen molecuulmassa of structuur van. Ik vrees dus dat er met IR geen onderscheid te maken valt. maar met een eenvoudige kookpuntbepaling ofzo zou dat wel moeten lukken.

De polysorbaten 20/40/80 worden gebruikt als solubilisator/emulgator om bijvoorbeeld vetoplosbare vitaminen (vitamine A,D,E,K) te doen "oplossen" in een waterig milieu (micelvorming) en om cremes te maken/stabiliseren. Die nummers duiden op de HLB-waarden (hydrofiel-lipofiel balans) en zijn een maat van emulsiekracht (als je het zo mag zeggen).
