Cola en Mentos

hallo, ik ben Doofenschmirtz en ik wil graag weten waarom cola zo gaat bruisen en bubbelen als je er mentos aan toevoegt.

The numerous small pores on the candy's surface catalyze the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas from the soda, resulting in the rapid expulsion of copious quantities of foam. Although any carbonated beverage will produce a similar effect, the reaction was popularized using Diet Coke for seemingly producing the best results.

A 2006 episode of the television series Mythbusters concluded that the potassium benzoate, aspartame, and CO2 gas contained in the Diet Coke, in combination with the gelatin and gum arabic ingredients of the Mentos, all contribute to formation of the foam.[1] The structure of the Mentos is the most significant cause of the eruption due to nucleation.

Ja door de poriën waar gasvormige koolstofdioxide heel gemakkelijk gevormd wordt :) Het CO2 zit opgelost in de frisdrank, maar doordat menthos eigenlijk helemaal geen glad oppervlak heeft, kan CO2 er makkelijk aan 'vast haken' waardoor bellen ontstaan. Als ik het een beetje in mijn eigen woorden moet uitleggen :P
